15 Novemeber 2006 -- Micro-g Lacoste gPhone Gravity
Meters Capture Earthquake in Japan
Five newly-built g Phone Gravity Meters at the
Micro-g LaCoste gravity lab serendipitously recorded the
earthquake
centered north of Japan on 15 November 2006. The
location of the earthquake is shown below.

The gPhone meters are each in different stages of completion,
but all instruments had strikingly similar
responses. The figure below shows the responses of the
five instruments over 4 hours after the quake (1 second
sampling). Complete results and analysis are available
