Micro-g LaCoste Borehole Gravity Survey Services

Borehole gravity measurements have proven their worth in applications ranging from detecting bypassed oil and gas, salt dome mapping to reservoir monitoring. Micro-g LaCoste has acquired all the borehole gravity assets of Edcon Inc., including key personnel with many years of survey experience. Combined with the meter building and maintenance experience of LaCoste & Romberg and the meter development and electronics expertise of Micro-g Solutions, borehole gravity surveying has entered a new era of reliability, efficiency, and capability.

The current borehole gravity meters are undergoing upgrades and enhancements to ensure results are of the highest quality while reducing survey time and improving depth resolution. These developments will lead to the construction of an entirely new borehole gravity meter over the next several years. This new meter will use the latest technology in both mechanical construction and electronics to further miniaturize the sensor, increase well deviation capability and enhance sensor performance.

Scintrex iconMicro-g LaCoste's sister company, Scintrex Ltd., also produces borehole equipment. With the introduction of their Gravilog gravity meter to the Mining and Geotechnical Industries, measurements can now be taken in holes as small as NQ drill rod (57.2mm) down to depths of 3000 meters and deviations off vertical to 60 degrees.
